Surface Decontaminants


Q. Can RNase AWAY be used on any surface or material?
A. RNase AWAY is a safe alternative to DEPC and works on a wide variety of surfaces, such as glass, plastic and hard metals. It is not recommended for soft metals like aluminum which might discolor on contact with RNase AWAY. Both RNase AWAY and DNA AWAY work by wiping the surface with a saturated lint-free laboratory wipe and wiping the surface completely dry. Hard-to-reach surfaces can, alternatively, be soaked in the solution then rinsed and wiped dry. When used as directed, RNase AWAY and DNA AWAY leave no residue and provide a convenient, effective way to decontaminate instruments, equipment and work surfaces.
